Stained glass of the Central Research Institute of Engineering Mechanics and Metalworking (TSNIITMASH) in Moscow. In this institute were made, the “Katyushka” rocket launchers dating from the Second World War, the famous Ruby Stars of the Kremlin, for the twentieth anniversary of the October Revolution as well as the sculpture of the “worker and kolkhoz women” of Vera Mukhina in 1937.
Athletes Mosaic

Wall Mosaic of a sports complex located on Leningradsky Avenue at the Dynamo Stadium. A French exhibition took place here in 1891, and in the twenties Moscow’s largest football stadium was built on these grounds. The stadium was then called Tomsk Stadium and renamed in 1929 as the “Young Pioneer’s Stadium” (mentioned in the work of Ilf and Petrov, “The Twelve Chairs”).
Illuminations on Kalinin Avenue

Superposition of two photographs. Illuminations of Kalinin Avenue (named after the Soviet leader Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin) in the 1960s, on the commemoration day of the Communist feast of May 1st, as photographed by journalist reporter Igor Zotin and revamped by adding the current lighting of the avenue, which has since been renamed, “New Arbat”.
THE SACRED ICONS

Orante icon of Mary, the Virgin of the sign, Yaroslav late 17th century. Icon on fabric, that is part of the impressive collection of Russian art from the Greek Kostaki Georges, which he donated to the Tretyakov Gallery, at the “100 years of a collector” exhibition.

MONUMENT TO THE CONQUERERS OF SPACE (GREY/RED)

An impressive obelisk depicting a rocket situated on top of the obelisk. It is placed on a huge podium (the Memorial Museum of Astronautics is housed inside) with images of scientists and workers which participated in the space program and Laika, the first ever dog to travel into space. Measuring 107 meters in height and made from titanium, this monument was erected in 1964 in honor of the Soviet astronauts.The monument is situated on VDNKh (which today is the All-Russia exhibition center), it can be seen in the Pet Shop Boys 1993 video “Go West”.
A tiny grain… of Caviar
Size : 70 x 190 cm
Scarce subtle taste, its size and color vary according to its name. Beluga, Osetra, Sevrouga, are all sturgeon’s eggs; this “black gold” Russian comes from the city of Astrakhan, located at the delta of the Volga, bordering the Caspian Sea.
